Having been stationed onboard USS Goldsborough DDG-20, for 3 years in Pearl Harbor, I had many opportiunities to view the wreckage, from the water and the Memorial. It was always a humbling experience. The leaking fuel that rises from the hull is a constant reminder of that fateful day.

Good to hear from you. I was there in 1964 aboard the Carrier USS Oriskany. We tied up on the opposite side of the Battle ship Row, right next the rusting hulk of the USS Utah which was mistaken for a flattop by the Japanese because it had been used for bombing practice by our planes, which dropped sacks of flower instead of bombs. I walked all the way across Ford Island and stood there looking at the memorial from the Island side. Words fail to discribe the emotions felt on that day. Stay close Jimmy, You too Ray.
