Denny Mohan has passed.

Post by Jim R. Harrison »

It is with great sadness that I am advising all of you involved with the steel guitar that my friend, and probably yours, Denny Mohan of Ladysmith, BC, has passed away at the age of 72 years. Denny has been in failing health over the past two years due to complications arising from diabetes. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sonja, and many, many friends in the steel guitar world. RIP, my friend!!

A dear Brother passes...

Denny was a very good friend...always there for me. We shared many fine moments & hours together. Some years ago Denny arranged to have me conduct a steel seminar near Vancouver, & was always assisting anyone who had an interest in the steel guitar.

He even made the trip to The East to be in attendance for my EA degree.

We last visited in person at the 2010 Texas Steel Jamboree.
God Bless.

Sadness! :( Denny was always one to greet with a smile and open arms at any steel show I attended. He will be missed. Prayers to Sonja and the family.

This is really sad news. Just got back from a holiday last night and found this out today. I had the priviledge of meeting Denny in 1969. I was playing a job, and he came up to the stage and told me about his fascination with the table guitar. He had never seen one up close before. I showed him how it worked and he was very excited. We became good friends, I helped him get his first steel and got him started. A sad day.

The reason I used the term table guitar is because that is what Denny used to call it, when he first saw it.
