Just received a phone call from Sue's daughter informing me of this sad event. This is such bad news for our steel guitar world. She loved this instrument probable more than any of us could ever match. She held down multiple jobs to come to our steel shows and that was not small feat - coming from overseas. She will be really missed. Condolences to all in her family.

I just have to add that Sue came to Portland, Or. when I was with Sierra. Somehow she had heard my first LP "Some of My Favorites" and then flew all the way from England to Portland for me to give her a few lessons. For someone one to think that much of my efforts, I told her there just could not be a charge when she wanted to know how much. She was truly devoted to and loved our steel guitars as all of you know that have met her at the shows. Rest in peace, Dear Sue Parkhouse.

Guys and Gals, I received the sweetest phone call this morning from Katie Parkhouse, Sues youngest daughter. Sue had set down with Katie and they went thru her address book and Sue told Katie who she wanted her to call to let them know that she had passed. Katies voice sounded just like Sue.
Like most of you, I met Sue in St Louis many years ago. After that I would see her in St. Louis and Dallas and on one ocassion Ireland. She loved to chat and talk shop.
Katie told me that her Mom had been ill for a couple of months and was having trouble breathing. They thought it was asthma related but found out that it wasn't asthma but instead was her heart. She had some sort of virus or infection in the heart but by the time they discovered it was to late to save her.

Steel guitar shows will somehow now be different for me, with each passing of a member of our family. I write these words with tears on my cheeks. Sue was one of the best. Sleep well, sweetheart.

What a sad news. Sue was a great lady and a dedicated member of the Pedal Steel Guitar Association for a very long time. We enjoyed visiting with her every year at Scotty's conventions and also at Jerry Hogan's British Steel Guitar Festivals. Sue was certainly dedicated to promoting the steel guitar and made many friends doing it. God Bless her. We shall certainly miss her. May she rest in peace.

Roy and I are very saddened by Sue's passing. Sue was a great supporter of the steel guitar world and she was a great suppporter of the TSGA Benevolent Fund in Dallas. Sue never came to Dallas without a gift from England to donate to the Benevolent Fund to help in our cause for other musicians and their families. We will miss Sue's smiling face and all of her kindnesses. Our sincere condolences to Sue's family.

I too am greatly saddened by the passing of my dear friend Sue. I was fortunate enough to travel to London and spend a few days with her before she was checked into the hospital.

Sue and I become acquainted at the Dallas show a few years ago and were good friends ever since. She will be sorely missed and the steel shows won't be the same without her.

We are still in shock and at a loss for words to learn of the passing of Sue. We have been friends for many years and we looked forward to seeing and visiting with her at the steel shows. She loved certain candies that she could not get in England and we would bring them to her. She would sit in our booth for hours and visit with us and talk steel guitar, family and just whatever came up. She was such a delightful person and so loyal to the steel guitar world and all its players. We sure will miss her smiling face and visiting with her. May she rest in peace in the arms of our heavenly Father.

Poor Sue was very unwell at the Irish Steel Show in October. I'm glad I got to spend a little time with her. We sat and had a good chat and a little gossip!!
