Bob Foster Passes
My old friend Bob Foster passed away unexpectedly this week from heart attack.
Bob was a great guitarist and a professional artist. I toured with him and his brothers on two different occasions during the 1980s. We worked all over the USA during those years.
He was a real inspiration for me with my art and music. His paintings have sold in Europe and all over the USA. He lived in Italy for 5 years as a professional painter. He loved steel guitar and particular Jimmy Day's playing.
His memorial service will be Monday April 5th, at St. Mary's Church at McCracken, Kansas. He will be buried there with his parents.
Rest in peace old friend!

So sorry hear of his passing.......
I've spent the last two weeks attempting to locate sound clips of Bob's playing. I ran across his name for years and his name has been mentioned for decades relative to his session work.
Unfortunately, I have no idea whatsoever, WHAT he sounded like.
What's the chance of someone putting a clip of his playing on this thread so we who are distant, can have a better chance of recognizing this fine player.

If this is the Bob Foster who was around Nashville in the late 40's, I was there at that time and knew him. He was a great steel player and a real gentleman. Big loss to the Steel Guitar world.

Thanks, Mitch. I had lost track of him.
