I just got the news that longtime keyboard player and vocalist for the Charlie Daniels Band, Taz Digregorio died yesterday as a result of an auto accident on the way to meet the CDB bus.

Sorry to hear that Craig, first Tommy Crain and now Taz. I remember an Austin City Limits show which featured the CDB. Taz had been injured sometime before the show and had his left arm in a cast and did the whole show with just his right hand and played the fire out of his keyboard(s)... A great musician.....JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

TAZ is from Southbridge Mass originally..His Family owns the United lens co and they bought The American Optical Co which kept that town employed before selling it to Bosch and Lomb....Taz who worked the Southbridge area with Bob Prince Trio sat in with me numerous times..He use to say he hated Country Music but he sure wound up mading a heck of a career out of it..Very Classicly trained musician that could play anything..

Its heartbreaking to hear of these untimely deaths of these great musicians!!! I read about Taz's accident a few days ago. The CDB will never be the same! It really hasnt been the same since Tommy left, but they hung in there! I have always loved the CDB, Charlie Daniels and the boys are some of my strongest inspirations for what i do!!! God bless Taz's family and all the CDB alumni and fans who knew and loved him!!!

I have to pass along the stretch of Interstate, where the accident happened, every time I go to, or come from, Nashville. It's one of the most dangerous areas {between Dickson and Nashville}, i've ever been on. I can't count all of the people i've pulled out of wrecks, or helped pull out, of wrecked vehicles [one was still burning], since I moved to Dickson, about 6 years. I'd move back to Nashville, in a second, if I could find a house for rent in Area 2. {Music Row area}, just to keep from having to drive, this dangerous stretch of Interstate. Sorry about Taz. Glad I got to see Taz one last time when we opened for CDB last year. We were soundchecking and I looked over and there he was, listening to us. Had a good talk with him when we finished and they did a fantastic show that night. I told him that the first time I saw them was '75 at DeKalb Community College when I was a theory student and we got a big kick out of that. Goodbye, my brother!
