So sad to hear this. John was a great guy, and I loved running into him at the shows. Rest in peace, my friend.

I'm saddened because I feared this would be the outcome of John's battle with Covid-19
John was a great friend to me, one whom I eagerly sought out and made sure we connected at every steel show we attended. He was a great conversationalist and raconteur, with a hearty laugh to accompany it. Hours of fun at each Jamboree. Sunday evenings at 6, after the steel show had cleared out and the hotel was calmed down, John, Bob Blair and I had our traditional steak chow down at the hotel that lasted a couple hours at least. A fine way to end a steel guitar convention.
Sadly, those evenings are gone now. But we have the memories. RIP John B. Arnold.

My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

This is sad news. I didn’t know JB but I know he was a big fan and friend of Buddy Cage. I’m sorry they are both gone. Too many steel players are leaving us.

Wow, I was unaware that John was even sick.
John spent many an hour plugged into my mixer at the ISGC and would always compliment me on the mix we were getting for recording, whether it be good or bad.
He would always go out of his way to find me and talk at any show we attended.
RIP friend.

Like many here, John and I were friends for many years, and fellow Buddy Cage fans. He always had bootleg CDs of projects that Buddy was working on that he would pass on to many of us. Last time I saw him he gave me a nice Melmo and the Middlemen ballcap that I will wear today.
At times like this I can only hope JB is sittin in at a jam with Buddy C and the gang on the great Festival Express in the sky.

John
Enjoyed conversing with John at the steel shows and the fine articles he wrote in the Steel Guitar Newsletter. He, indeed, loved the steel gluitar and was a genuinely nice guy.
